Deluxe edition signed by Whistler on the half-title page. 470pp. 10 full-page b&w illustrations with many others throughout the text. Publishers cream cloth with beautiful gilt design, cloth marked with a small stain to the rear, spine faded, corners gently bumped, small mark to gilt edges, light internal foxing but contents remain clean and binding firm. Overall an attractive copy.

A wonderful edition of this collection of fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen, signed and illustrated by British artist Rex Whistler, who died in Normandy during World War II.
