Mussard was a Genevan born protestant preacher who set out to convey that many Roman Catholic customs and rituals were derived from the pagan world. He died in London, 1686.

The arms of Louis Charles Voisin de Saint Paul, pressed in gold to the front and rear boards. Spine expertly re-backed and restored, new white end-papers, evidence fire damage before restoration, original brown leather boards, previous owner ink inscription to front-end paper, corners rubbed, the plates are mostly clean and unmarked. A very good copy.
